In an interview with MTV, he explained the title's meaning: "R.E.D." stood for "RE-Dedication", not his affiliation with the notorious street gang, the Bloods, as previously thought. In the same interview, Game revealed he partly chose to give the album's title, because his fans simply gave the early material he recorded for "R.E.D".
